About Us
The Fabrication sub-team primarily is tasked with the testing, manufacturing, and assembly of parts. Machining parts requires precise work using power tools. These tools are utilized in the making of wood and metal parts with measurements as small as a thousandth of an inch. Students receive training in the use of hand held and power tools, mills, lathes, saws, sanders, and more. Once the parts have been machined, construction of the robot will commence. In the early phases of build season, the sub-team will work closely with the Design and Electrical teams to build possible iterations of the robot. After testing, the Fabrication sub-team will take the finalized design and create the parts needed for the competition robot.
